Prompt from Daily Writing Practice
Los Angeles 10AM August 15th 1985. The early morning August sun beat down on the sidewalk and the white terminal as she sat perched on the trunk. He sisters leaned on other various pieces of luggage that incase the belonging that they were taking with them for the next 2 years. Their Parents had gone to get a couple of carts. A tear leaked from her eye. She felt weak and had not slept in abed for two nights her bed went to the salvation army two weeks ago and she wouldn’t return to her family home to live. The last two years before college would be far away.
She could hear the planes taking off and landing on the other side of the building. Cars were coming and going dropping off vacationers and the early business commuters. Tomorrow morning she would be in England. A second tear leaked from her eye
London 10AM August 15th 1987. She waved good bye to her parents and Justin. Her trunk and suit case were checked and her over stuffed carry on was over her shoulder her purse, ticket and passport clutched in her hands through security she clutched them. Nerves jangled her and she felt weak with lack of sleep. On the other side the security person complained that she had too much stuff in her bag and that it made their job more difficult during the searching. When she stepped away she realized that she did not have her ticket and passport. She had needed them to get this far but she didn't have them now. She searched through her purse and her bag. Tears began to stream down her face. Her first flight alone and she had already lost her ticket and passport. She wasn’t ready for this. A Security person cam and asked what was wrong. She croaked out her problem and after escorting her from one person to another and repeating what had happened a call came from a plane on the runway that someone had found them. She was escorted to the plane given another ticket and sent to Chicago.

December
Prompt from The One-Minute Writer
I have rule rules for December and the “holiday” season. You see my Birthday is December 8th and I hated having combined Christmas and birthday gifts. I may have under stood if My birthday was Christmas week. I also hated having my Birthday parties (the few I had) decorated by a Christmas tree. So The main rule is the tree does not go up until December 9th. There are others but this is paramount.

Home
The importance of place is often
Misplaced in bricks and mortar.
A red door
A room to walk through
Built in bookshelves made by hand
The long thin kitchen
With impossible to clean
Pink tiled counters
Ornate dark wood framed
Wooded Bed framed
Large Dark oak
Heavy desks
Books
Pictures
Memories
These can be moved with people.
Home come with
Love and people.

A week in the Life... Photos
I signed up for a swap to have three pictures a day to send to a partner.
October 25th
I cam home and checked my email at about 7PM to discover that I had almost forgotten about this swap. So I grabbed my camera to try to capture some elements of my Day. I had just returned from the salon next to the store I work in. The are usually not open on Monday but were having a “girls night out fund raiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. For $15 I got a pink extension
and I paid another $5 for 6 raffle tickets had some wine and cheese chatted to “the girl next door” and headed home. At home I needed to get my Daughter to work on her homework
and once I sat down my cat
leaped on to my lap being very happy to sit on me without having to share me with the lap top.
October 26th: Monday night was raining and windy all night. You can see that the tree that has just changed color lost a chunk of leaves during the night. My husband went out during the night and pushed our yard signs deeper into the ground.
My usual thermos of tea
was very welcome during the day. My first day at work this week. After last week having Monday off was a welcome break. The store I work out is closing at the end of November so we are bringing everything out on to the floor. And we had this huge green bin of mini stuffed animals.
I got to make up the way to display them. I thought this was cuter and easier and more space saving that putting them on hooks.
October 27th: With Halloween coming up and the weather seeming calmer my husband changed the light-bulbs
in the fixtures on the garage. But the wind picked up while I was at work I kept thinking that something was going to come off the roof. Apparently it did across the street. I didn’t see that but on the way home I noticed this traffic light
that had been bent by the wind. With the business of the week it was easy dinner night so I picked up pizza and salad from the take and bake place and if you look carefully you can see a bunch of pink peeking out of the basket.
I was gifted/won the BIG basket of goodies and they brought it to me on Wednesday morning.
October 28th: Day off from work and the kids were off. School being off My daughter who is a swimmer had practice at 10 am so we made a big breakfast for the kids neither have ever really liked breakfast but cheese omelets whisked with the new Halloween whisk was exiting.
Some quick laundry
to get done while my daughter was swimming and before we ran errands, one being dropping the swimmer at a friends for a night away at an indoor water park. Then to get some Halloween supplies for my little Harry potter. We saw this fun hearse
out side the store.
October 29th: Busy Day! Had to pack the car up
I had to go to work. After work I met my daughter at her friend house and we drove 2 hours to the hotel near her swim meet. The beds looked so comfy
but after the long day and getting fast food in my hair it was time for a shower with the strange hotel soap.
October 30th: Up and taking picture at 5:26
needed to be at the pool by 6:45 ugh. Got to see the sunrise that was pretty
My daughter took third in one of her races!
So proud of her! It was 4th over all!
October 31st Halloween: More swimming My daughter got lots of attention from her head coach in her last event!
It was great to see! Then home to see the jack-o-lanterns
and the house all decorated for the night.
