too late

Sleepless, the throbbing seemed not to be helped by eyes open or closed.
Vengeance was played out against the buzz buzz buzzing ending in a black and red smear on the blue sheets.
Small white chalking pills swallowed with no relief and the neighboring snore only drove her to the couch to sit staring at the glow of this screen.

The skin on her chin feeling stiff from the salt of dried tear she could not determine were from anger, pain, sleeplessness or disappointment. The warmth of the cat against her leg and the distant clatter of zippers in the tumbling dryer were somewhat soothing. Hoping that the familiar sounds might lull her to find the strength to attempt to wander up and sleep again putting aside her stubbornness and trying to forgive the slight caused by too much assumption and familiarity,

Ramblings late at night make little sense and much pondering.

  1. It may have been a trifling thing, but what was it? Sorry you had such a rough night.
