So it has happened.
Now what?
The ticky box was checked yes.
The idea of friendship rekindled
Joy and fear grip me at once
I look in the mirror and see
25 years of change
A 41 year old woman
The 15 year old girl is gone
But so much remains
Certain passions
Principals that make a foundation
So I take a chance.
I will start the letter
The note the email
“So what have you been up for the last 25 years?”

I see it really has struck you. Write the letter, e-mail, note.... Keep him at a distance and those memories won't be tarnished. Pull him in to close and you may see something you don't like.
ReplyDeleteI have written it. I thin it is whimsical. I hope he responds. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see something that will disrupt those memories a bit. It's been 25 years for minds sake my memories are mishmashed and wonky!
I am so using wonky in an upcoming story! My classes are done and at the end of this month, I am down to just working Thursdays for two weeks. When and where shall we meet, my dear? Call or e-mail.
ReplyDeletewonky??
ReplyDeleteLove that this piece is in a poem...it flow so well. I really like it.
It makes me wonder what I have been up to the last 25 years as well. Perhaps I should pen pal someone just to force myself to write something like this.
