Pain is the bringer of life. You enter the world giving your mother pain bonding her to you with blood fear and agony.
Thought out life pain is the great teacher. Pain tell you not to touch the flame that burns. And the soft leaf will burn and itch when you touch it.
Pain is the harbinger of love as well.
At life’s end is more pain. For you and those you leave behind.
If one cannot embrace and learn to use pain one misses out on the whole of life.

I think there is more to life than pain, although I agree it does play a great role. I do like your examples. They are very fitting and most everyone could relate to those situations. Nice job finding that connection with your audience.
