Written for a friend who is too far away
I am looking at your picture.
I recognize your face it is familiar and comfortable
It is the face from twenty years ago.
Only it is twenty years older.
I did see your face in my space ten years ago.
Then it was fleeting and stress was abounding
I didn’t take your picture.
I wish I had.
Now you are two thousand mile away.
All I have are written words and pictures.
Looking at you face the new that is in this picture
I see the tell tale signs that we have gotten older
Lines under the eyes
A droop of skin under the eyebrow
Deeper lines supporting you cheek
Line between the brows
These weren’t there when we were teens
They weren’t there when we turned 20
When did they come
So much history we haven’t shared
Grief and joy
Happiness and sorrow.
A life time has passed
Love still remains
Let us remember that.

It is very interesting as there were line breaks and such in the original and on the other site http://geekgirl33.posterous.com/a-picture-of-you but it is just as with out tell me if they seem different too you (other than the picture is only on this one)
