Tim met Joanne and a a week later she asked him out. Three weeks later they were engaged. They kept it a secret from their families and from the church it was too soon for many. Joanne had four children from previous relationships all grown and with children of their own. Tim had something none of the others had, determination. He had grown up with plenty of obstacles and she knew of obstacles in life but she had a sunny disposition and a positive outlook.
Today he talked of her love for everyone how she loved everyone in the room and asked after us always how in her outlook was always to think of others before herself. He talked about her love for cows and horse how he found it endearing and often refreshing, but at the same time her found it inconvenient and embarrassing. She wanted to pet each animal she saw.
As he talked tears trickled down his face and his youngest step daughter stood and put her arm around him, she cried too.
When her teenage children sang they could not complete the song they sand and collapsed in the arms of their aunts and parents shaking with sobs usually heard form smaller children in pain.
Not a dry eye in the room.

Well written Vicki. Some pronoun confusion, but I think I worked it out.
ReplyDeleteYou have been on a kick for sad lately. Hmmmmm.....
Well I decided to write this when I was at the memorial service yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYou wrote at a memorial service? Girl, you can write ANYWHERE!
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting. Cute and interesting.
I wrote it in my head at the memorial service. I came home many hours later to type it up. I was good and did not take my lap top with me.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to make it better but I couldn't quite get the thoughts all back.
