(sorry today has been extra long I'll get to the end of that story soon)
A Mother’s Love
A Mother’s love is s wanting to be curled up with you cuddly son when he asks even though you need to finish a story that you have left people waiting for an ending.
A Mother’s love is being happy to talk to your grown daughter when you ahve gotten home from the hospital even thought you feel nauseous and need to pee. (so you take the phone in the bathroom with you.
A Mother’s love is letting your son play his video game on the TV even though you would rather turn of the TV and sit in the quiet to write.
A Mother’s love is accepting that your son’s report card talks of how he needs to settle down even though he is proficient (the highest grade) in all but one of his subjects and laughing about it.
A Mother’s love is pretending to not know how much you have wronged your child during her childhood and now respecting her choices in her life even if you don’t understand or agree with them and letting her know it.
A Child’s Love.
A child’s love is knowing that your mom will come up to cuddle you as soon as she posts the story she wants to write.
A child’s love is sharing the joke with your Mom about how she always needs to pee when you call even though you are secretly worried that things are not as good as everyone says.
A child’s love is asking you mom if you can play Indian Jones 2 on the Xbox right now even though she has a head ache and hoping she will say yes but being ready for no.
A child’s love is having pride every day telling Mom that you have not gotten in trouble again.
A child love is feeling the heart ache when your mother is very ill even when you have fought with her every day of your 40 years and planning for all the eventualities and the right nows for her with all the love you have always really felt.

Very emotional Vicki. I like how it plays like a double edge sword.... but not in a cutting way. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this one! Very well written. I love how you wrote about specific things for each person and in the same order. I enjoyed this and giggled. I'm in the same person's shoes (including taking the phone to the bathroom and allowing a child to play games even while having a headache). Had a chance to get into Simon's head, too! Cute!
ReplyDeleteYes I liked the mirroring that I got going her I am not as pleased as I wanted to be with it.
